Golf Courses

Golf courses are designed for playing golf, with fairways, greens, and hazards that challenge players of all skill levels. They vary in size, layout, and difficulty, from small local courses to world-class championship venues.

St Andrews St Andrews

A golf course consists of several key features. A standard couse is comprised of 18 holes. Each hole begins from the tee. The ball is hit along the fairway, the main stretch of short grass that leads to the green, on which the hole and flagstick are located.

Surrounding each fairway and green are hazards like bunkers (sand traps) and water obstacles. Rough areas with longer grass border the fairways, while many courses also include changes in elevation and sharp turns (doglegs) that test strategy.
