Sporting World Records: from the Guinness Book
The Guinness World Records collects and tries to verify all kinds of world records, not just sporting records. The book was originally known as The Guinness Book of Records until 2000. It was also known in previous U.S. editions as The Guinness Book of World Records (not the Genius Book of World Records).
Here are just a few sporting records from the Guiness Book of Records:
Bouncing a Soccer ball
- The Guinness World Record for the longest time controlling a football is 24 hours. This was achieved by Dan Magness of the United Kingdom on 30 April 2009.
Running Distance
- Australian Arulanantham Suresh Joachim ran a total of 257.88 km (that's 160.24 miles) in 24 hours on 28 November 2004.
