Dunny Derby

This event, held in Winton Queensland, is such an important event on the sporting calendar it is only held every second year in September. It is held as part of Winton's Outback Festival.

A 'Dunny' is an Australian outback term for a toilet, and is usually the outdoor type. In this case, the dunny has wheels.

The Dunny Derby involves one person sitting on the 'throne' while two runners 'pushing', two runners 'pulling' the dunny. The race is run over 200 meters with a few 'obstacles' - the teams have to stop and pick up a toilet roll, a toilet brush and also have to empty the 'bucket'.

There's a competition for the fastest dunny as well as the best presented team.
