Smash Ball
The new sport of Smash Ball was created by Karl Piamonte from the Philippines in 2013. Smash Ball is a mix of basketball (because of the ball) and volleyball.
Equipment Required: Basketball shoes, net (volleyball type), gloves (soccer gloves in soccer type)
Description
Each of the team has a corresponding block post that they need to goal for score. Each team has uniform just like a volleyball jersey but the shoes are in basketball type shoes. And it has a net just like in volleyball.
The rules are:
- Once it touched in your opponent the score belongs to you
- Once you hit or touched in the net its a violated foul
- When you have foul your opponent will have a free kick
- Only the kicker and the goalkeeper can kick the ball
- Only the smasher can hold the ball for long or catch it by hand
- When the kicker and the goal keeper hold for 3 seconds are to be called travel and it will be a foul
- When you and your opponent will smash the ball together,it will be a jump ball(just like a basketball)
Positions in Smash ball and its definition
- Smasher/Captain ball-the one in the front of the net and the one who begin the game in his team.
- Kicker/Defender-the one on the right and left side .
- Goalkeeper-who is in the back of the team who guards in the post
