Slide Ball - a New Sport
The new sport of Slide Ball was created by Benjamin Lienesch from Minneapolis, USA in November 2023. In this sport, four people get chosen from one team to be the bombarders. They throw balls at a player from the other team until one gets hit by the holly ball.
Equipment Required: Volleyball court, including net. Small plastic black ball. Four dodgeballs.
It is played on a typical volleyball court. There are seven players on each team.
To start the game, the away team chooses if they want to have the bombarders or the bombartent. For the bombarding team, three get benched. For the bombartent's team, six get benched.
You place four ordinary dodgeballs on the court, then the referee shouts 'aset' and throws the holly ball up in the air. The holly ball is a small plastic black ball. The four bombarders throw the holly ball and the four balls at the bombartent.
For the bombartent and the bombarders to cross to the other side of the court, under the net, they have to slide.
If the bombartent gets hit by one of the four dodgeballs, the bombarders team gets a point. If the bombartent gets hit by the holly ball, that sixth ends.
The next sixth, the bombartent's team will be the bombarders and so on, through six sixths.
The team with the most points at the end, wins.
