Run Ball - a new sport

Run Ball is a new sport created by Bryce Herold of the USA in 2023. The aim of this sport is to get the ball to one of the opposing teams scoring squares or circles.

Summary

Players on teams of 5 start on the center line with the home team getting the ball first they run the ball to the opposing teams scoring square (1 point) or throw it to one of their scoring circles (5 points). There are 2 halves, each half being 2 minutes. During half time players get a break. The team to have the most points by the end of the game wins. If the teams tie then it will be marked as a tie.

Details

  1. The home team gets the ball first
  2. Players start on the center line (with any formation)
  3. Each team has 5 players on the field at all times, if there is any more or less then the game will be postponed until the appropriate amount of players is reached.
  4. There are 2 halves in the game, each half having 2 minutes of time
  5. The teams 'holder' gets to hold the ball first whenever they reset with the ball.
  6. Players can pass the ball between their teammates freely.
  7. If a player from an opposite team steals the ball then you keep playing without stopping.
  8. If a player is tackled then that player must stay down until the next reset.
  9. If a player with the ball is tackled then they stop the countdown and reset at the nearest line.
  10. If a player steps into theirs or the opposing teams scoring squares/circles at the end of the field then the opposite team gets a point and they reset from the center line.
  11. If a player throws a ball into the opposing teams scoring square at the opposing teams end of the field and it stays there then their team gets 1 point. But if they throw the ball and it lands and stays in one of the three circles inside of the rectangle then that team gets 5 points.
  12. After any team scores they reset at the center line and the opposite team gets the ball.
  13. Between each half there is a 5 minute resting period for both teams
  14. Whichever team gets the most points by the end of the game wins
  15. Whenever you reset in any way you stop the clock.
  16. If the teams are tied then the game will be marked as a tie.
  17. The field the players are on must meet all of the requirements or the game cannot happen.
