Powerball - a New Sport

The new sport of Powerball was created by Toby Thompson and Wilfred Beauchamp of the United Kingdom in March 2025. Powerball is a fast-paced version of a cross between touch rugby and football. Players run with ball in hand, and pass/ kick to pass, and kick to shoot.

Equipment: 1 rugby ball, 2 football goals, 1 full-size Astro pitch

14 players: 2 keepers (1 for each team), and 12 outfield players (6 for each team).

3-yard sideline - this happens when the ball hits either side fence of the pitch, and the team who has it gets a free pass/ kick. The opposition has to be 3-yards away, but the team who has the ball cannot shoot directly from it.

Goal kick - when either team kicks it over either backline of the pitch. The goalkeeper of the team whose backline it goes over has a free pass/ kick from inside their own box. All opponents must be outside the keeper’s box before taken.

Centre - this happens at the start/ halfway through the match, or when a team scores a goal. The team who has the ball at the start/ halfway through, or the team who concedes the goal takes it. It is a free pass/ kick to that team, and you can shoot.

Flyhacks are allowed.
