Liteball - a New Sport
The new sport of Liteball was created by James Barnum in 2023. In this sport, you throw a 3 inch rubber ball from one side of a field to the other, or defend them from getting to the score area.
Equipment Required: 3 inch rubber bouncy ball
Sport Details
Games comprise 2 halves of 25 minutes. The field should be 70 total yards long 50 for the main field and 10 for each score area (there should be 2 score area's) There are five positions: deep passer, short passer, right catcher, left catcher and middle.
When the play starts the short passer passes the ball to the deep passer, from there they go down the field. The left catcher the right catcher and the middle can't throw the ball more than 20 yards.
If the defense tags the offensive player with the ball that player cannot move forward anymore they can move left right and back and also pass but they cannot run forward
If they are tagged while lying on the ground the play ends and the offense starts from there.
Another way to end a play is by walking out of bounds with the ball.
You start at the 20 yard line always (unless you catch the offenses ball before it bounces 2 times).
If you steal the ball you run until the previous offense tags you the spot they tagged you is where your offense starts.
You have 3 attempts to make it half field if you can't do it after the third attempt the defense becomes offense at there 20 yard line. If you make it half field you get 3 more attempts to make it to the score area.
If you make it to the score area and are on your feet for three seconds you get a point (the defence can not interfere with the player with the ball in the score area if the ball was already caught). If you didn't stay on your feet the offense gets 3 attempts on that sides 10 yard line.
BIG RULE: there are not separate players for offense and defense, all players play offense and defense.
PENALTY: pushing is not allowed after the ball has been thrown before it is ok (you can't throw people though)if you do push after the ball has left a players hand and it is heading toward the person being pushed you have a choice to accept the 5 yard penalty. If you flop after a push it can be a 10 yard penalty! (all penalties could be declined or accepted).
