Fence Ball - a new sport
Fence Ball is a new sport created by Lucas Jimenez and Miles Johnson from the USA in May 2023. The sport uses a medium sized ball, the aim is to tackle the other player to stop them scoring.
Sport Summary
- the sport will be played in teams of 7s with 4 subs.
- use a medium sized leather ball.
- all players will wear protective caps to avoid head injury
- to start the game the ref has to place the ball in the center of the field and the teams have to race to it and then the match starts.
- to inbound the ball, the team who's inbounding does so by tapping on the top of the goal while the other team starts from their goal.
- player must tap ball on top of goal to start play after race.
- you tackle other player to avoid them scoring in the other team's fence goal.
- no tackles above the shoulders to avoid injury. a player who commits an illegal tackle will get a yellow card.
- if a player hits another player in the face they will receive 2 yellow cards and it will be a double turnover so the team who received the hit will get the ball after they scored.
- after a player gets tackled they can put the ball under their chest then the player who did the tackle has to take 5 feet back. However, if the player who got tackled doesn't put their ball under their chest, the other team can try and strip it - they have 5 seconds to strip it.
- a player will receive a red card for fouls language
- penalties will result in a turnover
- there will be a smaller goal worth 2 points inside the fence goal. The field size: football field approximately.
- ball must stay in air when passing
- if game ends in a draw it will result in a next point wins.
