The new sport of Drumstik was created by Alexander & Armando Norman, Bryce & Charlie Thompson-Wood, & Haider Afzal from Canada in April 2024. In Drumstik, you strategically pass a stick (shaped like a chicken drumstick) to your teamates and meet a minimum amount of passes to be able to get the stick to the other side and score a point. The first to 4 points wins the period. The first to 4 periods wins the game.

Equipment Required: 2 Goal posts (or trees is possible/needed), a stick or baton (preferably shaped like the titular leg), opposing colored jerseys or pinnies, cones for boundaries or a line if more professional.

Sport Details

• Sizes of the field shall vary. Small (approx. 25x15m) Medium (approx. 35x25m) Large (approx. 50x30m) Xtra-Large (approx. !!!!). 
  
• If the drumstik is dropped pass # resets. 
  
• If goalpost is passed before pass # threshold is reached, there will be a goal-line 
  violation and the drumstick is given to the opposing team, resetting the pass #. 
  
• Players can intercept the drumstick. 
  
• No hailmary's unless large or XL field size. 
• All required passes cannot be done before moving up (that is a cheap pass).
• Like in touch football, a play can be intercepted by a two-hand touch on the back once passing threshold is reached, which ends the play, restarting at the opposing team's  goal post, with a reset pass #.
• Pass # must be called out as a pass happens so it can be kept track of. 
• No holding longer than 8 seconds. 
• Checking is allowed but no tackles.
• There must always be at least one pass per half of field length. 
• There are four periods and within them there is a first to four method.
• First to four points in a period win the period.
• Only the number of periods won matters for score.
• If periods are tied 2-2 a bo1(best of one) overtime first to 4 points determines the winner.
• If a player holds another player there will be a penalty and the violating team will lose that player for 1 minute and 30 seconds. 
• Delayed penalties will take place once the opposing team gets possession of the stick.
• No pushing above the torso. 
• Double tap (two hands on the opposing player) to reset their pass # and cancel their poinf enacted a new round starts.
