T-Ball - Baseball for Kids

The game is basically an introductory sport for younger kids to baseball and softball. The players are usually between four and eight years old. The difference between T-Ball and Baseball/Softball is the child usually hits the ball off a stationary tee (a stand used to support a stationary ball). Also, the ball is usually not pitched. It may be called teeball, tee ball, or t-ball.

The origin of the game of T-Ball dates back to the 1950’s. A lot of people claim to have invented the sport, but was actually invented separately in several places. Robert Dayton Hobbs registered the “Tee-Ball” trademark in the 1970’s with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
