Hugo Conte: Volleyball

Hugo Néstor Conte (born 14 April 1963) is a retired volleyball player from Argentina. Born in Buenos Aires, he played volleyball cross across the world for over sixteen years and represented his native country in three Summer Olympics. Hugo Conte played for three different countries – Argentina, France and Italy – but mostly in the Italian league.

Greatest Sporting Achievements

Hugo Conte helped Argentina win bronze during the 1988 Seoul Olympics and 1982 Argentina World Championships. With Italian team Santal Parma, they won the 1984 European Champions League .

Why Was He So Good?

Hugo Conte is widely respected as one of the most intelligent and best all-around volleyball players in the world on a team that mirrored his brilliant skills. His name will likely be placed on Argentina volleyball rosters for many years to come.
