Marathon Athens 1908 Olympic Games

The men’s marathon at the 1908 Athens Olympic Games was won by US runner John hayes. Italian Dorando Pietri needed to be helped across the finish line, and was initially declared the winner before being disqualified in favor of Johnny Hayes of the USA.
