National Team Nicknames
Many teams from around the world have another name by which they are more well known. These are not all official names, and some national teams have more than one nickname.
Nicknames are commonly derived from the color of their playing strip or country flag, or an animal associated with the country.
Some of them seem like very interesting choices. In association football, there is the Philippines national football team called the Azkals, meaning the "Stray Dogs” in Philipino, and the Greek team To Peiratiko, meaning the Pirate Ship.
