Robot Sporting Competitions
Robotic sporting competitions involve robot machines battling other robots, often replicating the rules and equipment of other sports. Robot sports generally do not fit in the definition of a real sport as they are not human physical activities, but it is included on this list of sports due to similarities to actual sports.
FIRST Robot Competition Examples of robot sports include:
- Robot Soccer — autonomous robots compete in football matches.
- Robot Combat — involves custom-built remote control machines fighting each other
- Robot Racing — indoor or outdoor unmanned ground vehicle competitions. The robots race against other robots to a finish line, without any human guidance or control, sometimes off-road.
Robot Competitions
- World Robot Olympiad — a global robotics competition for young people, includes a soccer competition.
- RoboRAVE International — includes robot sports such as: a-MAZE-ing, jousting, line following, triathlon, Fire Fighting, and Aerial.
- RoboGames — includes over 70 events and are modeled on the human Olympics. Some of the sports are: robot soccer, sumo, combat, android wrestling, maze solving, fire-fighting, biped races, and balancer races.
