Carriage Driving

Carriage Driving is a term for sports in which horses or ponies are hitched to a wagon, carriage, cart or sleigh by means of a harness. Some examples are Harness Racing and Scurry Driving.

Carriage driving usually involves two- or four-wheeled carriages being pulled by a single horse, a tandem or four-in-hand team. Competitions can be for the fastest horse and carriage to complete a predetermined course, or based on aesthetic factors and subjective scoring based on the performance of the horse and driver.
