Casper Wood: Cricketer
Casper Reilly Wood, affectionately known as Cappa, is a promising young cricketer from Perth, Western Australia, born in 2011. Standing 179cm tall and weighing 57kg (in 2025), he is a right-arm fast bowler and right-hand batter known for his pace and determination on the field.
Casper Wood in actionCasper began his cricketing journey with the Leederville Mt Hawthorn Junior Cricket Club, where his talent quickly stood out. He has since been selected to play for the Mt Lawley District Cricket Club, and will be hitting the field for the U15 team for the 2025/26 season.
Among his early achievements are a highest score of 58 and best bowling figures of 4 for 6. Despite a couple of injury setbacks, he’s set his sights on a strong and uninterrupted season ahead, and hopes to keep growing, knowing that height is often an advantage for fast bowlers.
A pivotal moment in his development came thanks to coach Chris McCormick from Darwin, who recognized Casper’s potential and likened his bowling style to that of Australian legend Brett Lee, a comparison that sparked new confidence and focus.
Off the field, Casper is a multi-talented individual. A student and leader at Bob Hawke College, he’s also a gifted artist with a creative side that surprises many who know him only for his fiery fast bowling. He is the proud son of Rob and Clare, and a supportive brother to Jetson and Olive.
