The Salt Lake stadium is located in Bidhannagar, Kolkata, India. The stadium is officially known as Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK).

The current current capacity is 85,000 people, though before a renovation in 2011, it had a seating capacity of 120,000 and was on the list of the top-10 World's Largest Sporting Stadiums. It is the second largest stadium in India, behind the recently removated Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad.

• 1985 - matches of the 1986 FIFA World Cup qualification in 1985
• 1987 - 3rd South Asian Games in 1987
• 2013 - opening ceremony of 2013 IPL Season
• 2017 - The stadium hosted the final match of the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
