Hungary at the Winter Olympics

Hungary is one of the few nations that have perfect attendance in participating at the Winter Games from 1932 in Lake Placid, United States up to 2014, Vancouver, Canada.

The nation is relatively strong in summer sports, but not in winter sports. in fact it just won all of its 6 medals (2 silver and 4 bronze) in figure skating.

In 1932, the duo of Emília Rotter and László Szollás captured a bronze medal in the pairs event in figure skating to give Hungary its first-ever medal at the Winter Games.
The tandem of Andrea Kékesy and Ede Király and Krisztina Regöczy and András Sallay won silver medals in 1942 and 1980 respectively.

In 2018, the gold medal drought was broken with a win in the men's short track speed skating 5000m event. It was Hungary's first Winter medal of any color since 1980.
