The game was won by the New England Patriots, who beat the Seattle Seahawks 28 to 24. New England Patriots' Quarterback Tom Brady was named MVP.

The game will be remembered for what some commenters are calling "one of the worst calls in Super Bowl history". In the last minute, Seattle were looking to score the winning points from the 1 yard line. They chose to throw a pass, which was subsequently intercepted.
