Brazil at the Copa América
The Copa América is the international championships contested among national teams from South America. Brazil is one of the 10 CONMEBOL nations and is a regular participant in the tournament. Brazil played in the very first tournament in 1916.
The Champion Brazil team at the 1922 Copa AmericaBrazil have won the tournament nine times (the third-most successful team behind Argentina and Uruguay with 15 each. Their most successful period was from 1997 to 2007, winning four out of five Copas.

- Brazil attended the 1959 tournament in Ecuador with a team from Pernambuco, a state in Brazil.
- Pelé only competed in one South American Championship, in 1959.
