World Friendship Games 2025
The World Friendship Games (WFG) was an international multi-sport event to be held as an alternative to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The event was originally planned be held in Russia from 15 to 29 September, 2024, shortly after the Summer Olympics in Paris. However, it was announced in 2024 that it had been postponed until 2025, then lter postponed indifintly.
The opening and closing ceremonies were to be held at the Luzhniki Stadium.
The World Friendship Games 2025 were organized in response to the exclusion of many Russian teams and events from elite international sport.
Sports
The sports program was set to include over 30 sports, both Olympic and non-Olympic. Most of the events were to be held in Moscow, a few in Yekaterinburg.
