Hong Kong at the Commonwealth Games

Hong Kong (HKG) competed at the Commonwealth Games as a British colony or dependent territory at the first Games in 1934 (disputed), then participated between 1954-1962 and 1970-1994. In 1997 the UK handed Hong Kong over to the People's Republic of China, which is not member of the Commonwealth, and as a result Hong Kong could no longer participate.
