Barbados is the most easterly of the Caribbean islands, sitting south of St Lucia, east of St Vincent and the Grenadines and north of Trinidad and Tobago.

• Barbados became a member of the Commonwealth in 1966
• Barbados have attended all Commonwealth Games since 1954.
• They have won many medals, across four sports: weightlifting, athletics, cycling and boxing - including gold in weightlifting (1958) and athletics (1998).
